Plinio Ferreira is a pharmacist who, since completing his PhD in pharmacology, worked for six years as a postdoctoral scientist at the University of Reading and Imperial College London. He then moved into the charity sector, working as an outreach drug and alcohol practitioner to support people experiencing homelessness on the streets of London by providing trauma-informed tailored harm reduction advice. He also works with Drug Science, a charity that builds an independent, evidence-based foundation for drug policy, free from political or commercial influence, and informs the public, media, and policymakers to support effective and positive change.
