In January 2020 we started holding monthly public meetings in the University Centre Shrewsbury. These open meetings were held to encourage our local community to come along and share their stories about alcohol addiction. We wanted to create a safe place where we could start a conversation about addiction and listen to what people had to say. Everybody was made welcome, and people of all ages and from all walks of life, attended. We held several lively discussions, shared our stories, provided information and made new friends. Unfortunately we were forced to stop these meetings when the covid crisis struck, but we intend to start again once it is safe to do so.
