Andy has been a trustee of Share since January 2026, and brings over 40 years’ experience of working in the NHS, including as a consultant surgeon, medical director, and many senior management roles. He has had various and diverse involvement with charity work and previously been a trustee for five charities, two of which as chair.
Andy shares concern with the damage excess alcohol does to people and the consequent cost to the individual, families, society and the NHS. He also has professional interest and concern with the physiological effects of alcohol on the body.
As well as the medical background and knowledge, Andy provides trustee oversight and governance, assistance in strategy development and specialist knowledge around health issues and policy development as needed. He also has occasional involvement with our workshops, plus other charity activities.
Beyond Share and his other professional commitments, he enjoys travel, walking, cycling, and spending time with his grandchildren.
